July, 2017

The NFWA meeting on July 13, 2017 was attended by 8 members.
Grace reported :
  • The North Fork Sign has been completed.  It is in place at the Walter Dick Memorial Park.  It was dedicated on July 12, 2017.  Information about this sign can be found on the NFWA website.
  • Currently work is being done in preparation for applying for a permit for the Industrial Park that will be located across from the Conservation Office.  The permit has not been applied for at this time.
  • There was a discussion about changing the time for the NFWA meetings.  It was tabled.
Currently 3 loads of limestone have been approved to be purchased.  One load has been purchased and two more loads are still authorized to be purchased.  There was a discussion about the price charged by New Enterprise for limestone.  Wayne got a new quotation from New Enterprise.  The person we now deal with at New Enterprise has changed.
Summer Camp will be in August.  It will be discussed at future meetings.
We had a good time at the Summer Picnic at Walter Dick Memorial Park at 6:00 pm on July 13th.  The July NFWA meeting followed the picnic.
The Macro-Invertebrate Study is temporarily scheduled for July 19th at Jones Bridge at 9:00 am.  Since Grace was not at this meeting, we will contact her and probably change the date for the study.
The Source Water Protection meeting on June 15th at 7:00 pm did not amount to much.
Grace has prepared a summary of the effect of limestone on North Fork Creek.  A motion was made to pass this summary on to the Brookville Municipal Authority.
